You can book a group tour with other travelers or a private tour with just your family. Don't forget to pack your swimsuit, as the tour will give you plenty of time to take a dip in a natural pool underneath a waterfall. Local Hikes and Nature Trails: Enjoying the Great Outdoors Near Pacific Palms

When you plan your trip to L.A., there's no doubt that you'll want to check out all the gorgeous natural areas the land around Pacific Palms Resort has to offer. Schaubarum Skyline Trail and Hacienda Hills Trailhead Steep Canyon Trail are two of the area's most popular hiking spots--for good reason.

Schaubarum Skyline Trail is one of the reasons why hiking in L.A. is so popular. At nearly 30 miles long, you'll get the workout you want while enjoying the gorgeous views of Los Angeles. You're more than welcome to bring a leashed dog, and horseback riding and mountain biking are also permitted. This connector trail offers an elevation gain of over 1,100 feet, allowing you to get a serious workout. The biggest elevation changes are at the beginning and end of the trail, so you'll be able to get a great sweat in no matter where you get started.

Looking for a Faster Option?

We've got you. The Steep Canyon Trail located at the Hacienda Hills trailhead is perfect for hikers--and you'll find a fully accessible trail area, plenty of parking, and water and restroom areas at the start of the trail. Be sure not to plan your workout too early, as the trail isn't open until 9 am. At just 1.6 miles long, you may find that you're up for more than one loop. For most hikers, this trail takes about an hour to complete (you might want to allow a little more time, as the hike does get quite steep in some areas). Be sure to bring your dog along--as long as they're on a leash, they're more than welcome to join you.

Powder Canyon is one of the most well-known hiking spots in L.A., and you'll see why as soon as you get moving. At 6.5 miles, this loop offers some challenges--you'll experience an elevation gain of nearly 1,300 feet. On average, it takes hikers a little bit more than three hours to complete the hike. The tough route is well worth the mountain views you'll get to enjoy along the way. Don't forget to pack a lunch--you'll find several great spots to stop and enjoy a picnic along the way.

Looking for a Shorter Hike?

You'll want to check out Sycamore Canyon Park Trail, a 1.6 mile loop with an elevation gain of just over 600 feet. You'll get plenty of breaks from the California sun as you make your way through the shade of oak and sycamore trees. While the trail is quick, you'll still get a good sweat--you'll find that the trail ends with a 22% grade followed by a staircase leading to the Diamond Bar Boulevard trailhead. The loop is popular with both runners, mountain bikers, and hikers alike, and you're more than welcome to enjoy the trail with your leashed dog.

Spring is the perfect time to plan a golf vacation to one of the best golf resorts in LA. And not only will you have your choice of not one but two amazing golf courses to choose from; but your stay at the beautiful Pacific Palms Golf Resort also offers upscale amenities to enjoy during your visit.

The Pacific Palms Resort is a great way to escape for a week or a long weekend when you’re looking for fun activities in Southern California for golfers who want to soak up the sun and spend some time on the course!

Why Choose a California Golf Vacation at Pacific Palms Resort?

The Pacific Palms Resort hotel and golf course near LA offers everything golfer’s want and more. Play a round on one of our championship golf courses, which are known to be some of the finest golf courses in California. For over 40 years, the Industry Hills Golf Club has been a regular destination of some of the best golfers in the area who come to play one of the best rounds of golf near LA.

Industry Hills Golf Club offers two courses at their Pacific Palms Resort location: The Eisenhower Course and the Zaharia Course. Here’s a little background on both courses and their rates.

  • Eisenhower Course - (The Ike) – Green Fees from $49 to $99 - The Eisenhower course was designed by William F. Bell and has been the host of many U.S. Open Qualifying tournaments and LPGA tour events. This popular par-72 course features slope ratings from 130 to 145 and stretches from 5,662 yards from the forward tees to 7,221 yards from the championship tees.
  • Zaharia Course - (The Babe) – Green Fees from $49 to $89 - Designer William F. Bell also designed the Zaharias course. His goal was to make the 650-acre course as challenging and target oriented as possible. He did this by maximizing the expansive acreage of the hilltop resort which ranges from 5,363 yards from the forward tees, to 6,821 yards from the championship tees. This par-71 course features slope ratings ranging from 126 to 138, making it the challenge it was created to be.
