Hsi Lai Temple

Financed by donations from Buddhist devotees from around the world, Hsi Lai Temple has made Hacienda Heights a spiritual and cultural center for those interested in learning more about Buddhism and Chinese Culture. The temple is open and available for a number of purposes, including a weekly chanting service every Sunday from 10:30 to 12:00 and a grand dining hall, where a small donation gives you access to a vegetarian lunch buffet. However, this is just the start of the many activities and events the temple hosts. Educational lectures, special workshops and instructional classes for the community take place here throughout the year. Each of these classes welcomes “anyone with a sincere motivation and willingness to learn about Buddhism”. The temple is also open for tours—individuals can borrow a cassette from the Information Center. Hsi Lai Temple is located less than 10 minutes by car from our Resort. If you have any interest, curiosity or involvement in Buddhist practices, you’ll certainly want to visit!
